Your Portuguese Coffee Order

There is a good chance that at some point during your stay, you'll find yourself standing at a Portuguese café wondering what to order. We've got you.

☕ Um café / duplo

A small espresso, the classic. Add duplo if you need a double espresso.

🥛 Um galão

Coffee with plenty of warm milk, usually served in a tall glass.

☕🥛 Uma meia de leite

Coffee with milk, usually served in a cup.

☕ Um pingado

An espresso with just a little milk.

Then there is the all-important question:

“É para beber aqui ou para levar?”

Is it to drink here or to take away?

But our vote?

Aqui. Here.

Because the whole point is to sit down, slow down and enjoy it.

And if someone suggests having mais um café — one more coffee — we fully support saying yes.
